The International Sleep Medicine Course (ISMC 2012)

Who should attend
This acclaimed international postgraduate programme is aimed at medical specialists, physiologists and nurses of all levels, who care for patients with sleep disorders. The course offers a comprehensive and contemporary review of the most relevant aspects of normal sleep, abnormal sleep physiology, clinical investigation and treatment of sleep disorders. Delegate numbers are limited to 80 participants to ensure active involvement.
The Programme
A 4 day programme includes lectures, seminars and practical case-based workshops will cover sleep disorder assessment and investigation including polysomnography and actigraphy, and management of problems including Sleep Physiology, Excessive daytime sleepiness, Sleep Breathing Disorders, Narcolepsy and Cataplexy, Movement Disorders and Epilepsy, Circadian Rhythm disorders, Insomnia and Parasomnias.
The Faculty
The faculty comprises many expert international speakers and is organised in cooperation with the British, Belgian and Dutch Sleep Societies.
The Venue
The ISMC has an interactive layout in an attractive and intimate college accommodation setting. There will be accommodation available and a welcome dinner on the evening of Sunday 23rd September and a gala dinner on the evening of Wednesday 26th September. Cambridge can easily be accessed by rail from London, by air via Stanstead airport, and by road.
CME Approval
CME approval will be sought from the Royal College of Physicians of London, UK and from relevant European accreditation bodies. Delegates completing the course will receive a certificate of attendance and accreditation points (CME) for 21 hours. An optional examination on the contents of this course will be organised in early 2013.
Costs
The course fee including educational material is 1000 GBP (Early Bird 800 GBP). Accommodation is available as an option (single room with breakfast, lunch and dinner) in Robinson College, Cambridge arriving Sunday 23 September 2012 (3 nights at 400 GBP; 4 nights at 500 GBP) including gala dinner.
